Help your witnesses and clients reduce their anxiety before taking the witness stand
This book is clinically proven to reduce anxiety and depression and is intended for the general population. However, we have found that its exercises are terrific at reducing a witness's anxiety in anticipation of testifying. The book educates its reader about cognitive behavioral exercises that help the reader change her thinking in a way that helps reduce problematic behaviors and anxiety. Readers are able to work through chapters of the book that inform them how to change their thinking about whatever is causing them stress. They work through exercises by writing down whatever it is that is causing them stress and then applying principles learned in the book. Coping with litigation and testifying are incredibly stressful events, and exercises in this book can help to reduce that anxiety. This helps with the overall demeanor of the witness because very high levels of stress greatly compromise a witness's effectiveness. Furthermore, jurors often view anxiety as a sign of deceitfulness, so reducing anxiety helps bolster a witness's credibility.
